Sometimes you just need to sit back and relax with a box of tissues and a good old ecchi anime. On this list we have plenty of steamy situations and bouncing breasts as well as some ecchi anime that break the usual trend. Some of the best anime here are also great harem series, so it's like a two-for-one deal.

Either way, enjoy our Top 25 Ecchi Anime list -- the closest thing you can get to outright diving into your hentai folder.

Our next entry on this list strays into Weird Fetish Territory and can otherwise be known as That One Weird Anime Where The Girl Likes to Drool.

Mikoto Urabe is a strange girl who just does not give a shit about school. When she’s not sleeping in class, laughing for no reason or playing with the scissors she keeps in her panties, she’s following Akira Tsubaki around. The two have an unusual relationship that all starts with swapping spit – literally.

Mysterious Girlfriend X is an unusual anime. While it comes with some of the usual ecchi situations, there’s something terribly honest about the whole show in how it handles the relationship of the main couple. It comes in at first place on this list for being really weird but at the same time incredibly sincere.

Why it made the list: There’s an air of weird realism about this show, not from the mind melding with saliva part, but the part where awkward teenage relationships pan out exactly as they might do in real life. It’s not just an anime about panty shots or boobs in your face but is instead a very sincere approach to young love.

Watch if you like: Drool; scissors; tan lines; teen romance; school settings; mystery; short series; weird girls; normal guy x weird girl.

Next on our list is just about the only ecchi anime here that commits to having characters do the deed but doesn’t indulge in it, keeping the show firmly within the bounds of ecchi.

Haruka and his twin sister Sora move to the countryside to eat some peaches. As they spend time in the peaceful rural town that they used to spend summers with their grandfather, Haruka starts to remember his younger days, then somehow manages to split his story into different arcs as he chases different girls and romances them.

Yosuga no Sora doesn’t shy away from lust, but as much as it gets close to showing the sex scenes that happen, it also has a story worth paying attention to. Haruka changes differently with each route he goes down, and so do the girls he pursues.

Why it made the list: This is the closest thing we get to action on this list and it doesn’t disappoint with scenes or as a story. Yosuga no Sora has a bit of everything and pulls it off well, having a variety of romances play out while the main character changes differently all the while.

Watch if you like: Omnibus formats; romance; drama; almost sex scenes; incest; routes; the country.

No, not the dirty pair of whatever it is you keep hidden under your bed; the pair of gun-wielding mercenaries who blow shit up in space.

Mankind has evolved to live amongst the stars, but it still needs the good old police force to settle matters that are too big. Kei and Yuri, codename “Lovely Angels”, are the galaxy’s own James Bond and are more commonly known as the Dirty Pair. Big hair and cool guns are the least of everyone’s problems when Kei and Yuri are called to investigate problems in space – their trademark solution is to practically destroy everything

Dirty Pair is a classic girls with guns show that gives ecchi some style. It has a lot of appeal for those who don’t like the moe anime aesthetic of the 2000s-era shows and who might yearn for something a little older and more mature.

Why it made the list: Dirty Pair is a classic ‘80s ecchi show with equal parts comedy and action. It comes off as a show that’s way more than just nice angles and short shorts, with enough action and comedy to appeal to just about everyone.

Watch if you like: Science fiction; lesbians; space; comedy; adventure; agents; action; older art style; older anime; the ‘80s; standard-length series; partners; small cast of characters.

Okay, stay with me here. As much as the title sounds like a B-grade hentai OVA – and the plot of aiming to fuck 100 guys kinda supports that – B Gata H Kei is very much a good ecchi anime.

Yamada is a 15-year-old high school girl who thinks her vagina looks weird. To get over this anxiety, she plans to fuck 100 guys, because nothing makes a gal feel better than downing dicks. But since Yamada doesn’t know the first thing about taking guys to bed, she sets her sights on fellow classmate Kosuda to ease the transition.

As much as the show could quickly devolve into the usual ecchi anime with roles reversed, B Gata H Kei is an enjoyable romcom that dares to talk about sex at all.

Why it made the list: B Gata H Kei turns the usual ecchi setup around, making the female protagonist the active one pursuing the shy male lead. When it comes down to it, B Gata H Kei is a romcom first with ecchi that isn’t forced, making it more enjoyable for what happens.

Watch if you like: Slice of life series; sex; school setting; comedy; romance; role reversal; short series; interesting protagonists; random gods.

Our next title on this Top 25 Ecchi Anime list is Golden Boy, putting anyone’s dreams and aspirations on screen by flouting a young boy’s adventures working for various hot ladies.

Kintarou is a genius and, as geniuses do, he drops out of university before graduating to pursue the finer things in life – women. With just his trusty bicycle in hand, Kintarou rides far and wide to appreciate all sorts of women and then… genuinely help them while learning about life?

For a very short series, Golden Boy leaves an impression. Just like its protagonist, Golden Boy rides in to give a short visit, flirt and leave before anything gets too serious.

Why it made the list: Kintarou leads an interesting life, and it’s not hard to come to love Golden Boy for Kintarou’s crazy antics. It’s an all-round lovable series, even with some crude jokes, that’s also easy watching.

Watch if you like: Older protagonists; older series; short series; episodic anime; helping people; lewd jokes.

Zombie–human love is real in Sankarea. Ever wanted to have your secret love of reanimated corpses finally represented on-screen? Look no further.

Furuya’s cat is dead, but he’s not mourning yet. He simply revives it as a zombie with a potion he made somehow. But when a girl named Rea steals the potion and drinks it (hoping that she’ll die from it), she’s simply given new life as a zombie. A zombie who eats out of lust. Because anime, right?

Sankarea has comedy and ecchi moments just like most other shows on this list, but it turns up the creepy factor by including some horror elements. Not your usual boy meets girl story, for sure.

Why it made the list: Sankarea definitely made the list due to its unconventional romance, but that doesn’t mean it’s not worthy. The show perfectly pins a creepy romantic atmosphere while developing its main relationship. Definitely not your conventional ecchi anime.

Watch if you like: Zombies; romcoms; reading the manga; short series; horror; the supernatural; eating people.

Filling in the High Fantasy side of our list is Demon King Daimao, anime’s answer to a more perverted tale of Harry Potter. Except Harry’s a demon.

When Akuto Sai enrolls in a magic academy, he finds that he is gifted with exceptional magic power. But that’s not all – he’s also basically Satan. While Akuto isn’t exactly thrilled with being the next king of all things evil, the girls all flock to his ultimate bad boyitude and won’t leave him alone. What’s a demon king to do?

Even though Demon King Daimao shows off its plot now and then, it’s still an ecchi harem anime at heart and is best left as an anime you watch to enjoy but not think about too much.

Why it made the list: Demon King Daimao is the kind of show you just sit back and enjoy. With 70% more magic than the regular ecchi anime, it’s a short but fun series with some nice action scenes thrown in.

Watch if you like: Fantasy; magic; school setting; Satan; harem anime; action; short series; forgetting about the plot; interesting protagonists.

If you thought the magic in this list was over, think again! This time the setting is “somewhere French-ish” in a school for magic where anything can happen.

Louise is a girl with zero magical talent. When a test at her magic academy requires her to summon a servant, Louise has high hopes and plans to summon a familiar that will prove she is capable after all. But things don’t work out and she summons the most useless familiar ever: an average Japanese boy.

What starts out as a simple ecchi romcom with magic opens up into a four series-long story with equal measures of romance and political intrigue. It’s not an anime to mindlessly enjoy, but it’s also not hard to find it nicely charming.

Why it made the list: Zero no Tsukaima is the kind of show you go into for mindless fun only to realise that it has an interesting plot that actually goes somewhere. While there’s plenty of magic antics, it’s more of a romantic comedy show with some bonus ecchi content.

Watch if you like: Magic; harem anime; comedy; school setting; not-quite-Japan setting; short series; romance; character development; watching all the seasons.

Not to be mistaken for lying elves, Elfen Lied is a  horror classic that also has its fair share of ecchi service, throwing naked girls into the mix for some truly fun and horrific times ahead.

There’s a very particular kind of being in the Elfen Lied world, and they have telekinetic powers. Reasonably, all these beings are confined and experimented on by the government. After a particularly crazy being escapes, killing all the guards around her, she is shot in the head and lost to the sea, but wakes up in the presence of two teens. They decide to take the crazy naked girl home, not realizing that everything is going to go to shit very, very fast.

Elfen Lied isn’t just about trying to make clothes out of blood; the series attempts to tackle many themes while still mostly delivering horrifying scenes.

Why it made the list: Elfen Lied is another classic horror anime, but as much as it mixes nudity with violence, it takes on themes and ideas while trying to make sense of them. It’s not exactly a philosophical anime but it isn’t as much senseless violence as you may think.

Watch if you like: Blood; naked girls; short series; sad pasts; building-up; more blood; experimentation; crazy girls; supernatural powers; horror anime.

Our most underrated entry on this list, Hen Zemi makes it to our number ten spot for being an ecchi anime that dares to look at what makes ecchi anime tick.

Nanako is an innocent girl who enrols in a peculiar class just to be close to the guy she likes. What she finds isn’t your average college class but a den of depraved adults that constantly push the boundaries of how much you can show on TV. But as much as the group carries out every fetish the like, they also go into the psychological side of it.

Hen Zemi sets out to be weird and gross in a weirdly gross interesting way. While fantasies dominate our Top Ecchi Anime list, this anime is sure to be something a little different if you’re bored with the genre.

Why it made the list: Hen Zemi is a bit different to the usual ecchi anime. Its more adult approach to ecchi makes it both interesting and way weirder than basically every show on this list. It takes a leap from steamy situations to something more real, which makes it not an anime for everyone, but definitely something new to try.

Watch if you like: Weird porn; college; innocent main characters; comedy; short anime; analysing things; being weird; being gross; alternative anything.

Haganai, as this anime is lovingly called, makes it to the top of a lot of lists for combining romance, a harem and ecchi all in one to create a surprisingly tasteful show. There’s a fairly good balance of everything, including your walk-in-during-bath scenes and see-girl-naked scenes.

Kodaka, a not-so-mysterious transfer student, enters a new year of school. Because his hair is a shade lighter than everyone else, students all think he’s going to beat them up when really he just wants friends. When he stumbles across a crazy girl talking to her imaginary friend, the two establish the Neighbours Club, a place where Kodaka can be oblivious about his growing harem as the two lead romantic interests spend most of the series fighting each other.

While Haganai looks like a melting pot for more anime waifus, it has enough awareness to make it more than an average harem anime. It plays with itself and jabs at the genre, it throws its girls into a variety of steamy situations, and plays out a quirky kind of romance that can come off rather charming.

Why it made the list: While Haganai delights in showing how nerdy and isolated the main cast is, its main focus is always on character interaction, which makes most of the show pretty damn charming. The romance aspect is always somewhere in the background, but for the most part this is a comedic ecchi harem anime with some playful intimate moments.

Watch if you like: Comedy; harems; a variety of characters; clueless male leads; little girls; girls who fight each other; high school; clubs; fantasies; meat; maids; socially awkward teenagers; a second season.

Here’s a blast from the past for Toonami watchers – Tenchi Muyo aired over 20 years ago. It’s been a long time for the series, but it’s still a classic ecchi harem anime from the time before constant panties in your face.

Tenchi is a young kid who just keeps getting into trouble. One day, he releases a space pirate who was sealed in a cave for 700 years. No big deal. From there, a series of events occur to draw four more girls to him, each with their own problems and circumstances. With all these pretty girls around, Tenchi discovers his heritage and some hidden powers because why not, really?

The years have taken their toll on this series but it still stands strong. There’s the classic attention to detail and level of respect for all the characters, making this a different kind of ecchi anime.

Why it made the list: Tenchi Muyo is described by some as the definitive harem anime and, well, it kind of is. It also comes with some bonus ecchi scenes. Very few series come to mind where everyone is treated with respect and where the romantic plot isn’t the be all and end all of the series. Time hasn’t been the best to this series, but it still has that classic appeal.

Watch if you like: Toonami; older anime; space; action; comedy; watching everything else; science fiction; shounen; parody; harem anime.

It’s not every day that you get to see H.P Lovecraft’s monsters come to life as cute schoolgirls, but today is certainly that day.

Nyarlathotep is just an average alien posing as a cute schoolgirl with an abnormally large ahoge. She befriends a tsundere schoolboy by the name of Mahiro, but their peace doesn’t last long when you need to cram as many references you can in a 12 episode series. As each day passes, moe monsters from the Cthulhu Mythos come to Earth to battle because they can.

Nyaruko-san is basically a more modern take on Lucky Star but with aliens and supernatural stuff thrown in. It’s entertaining for what it is and perhaps more heavy on the supernatural than ecchi moments, but don’t think the Crawling Chaos doesn’t want to exercise her tentacles.

Why it made the list: What’s not to love about an anime that embodies Lucky Star’s style of comedy with H.P Lovecraftian monsters made moe? For an episodic series, it packs a lot of fun and enough references to make a drinking game out of.

Watch if you like: H.P Lovecraft; parody; comedy; gay option; science fiction; episodic anime; slice of life; mythology; short series.

Coming in as our ridiculously large harem potential anime is Sekirei, where 108 girls and guys exist to fawn over their harem lead and… fight to the death?!

Minato is a smart guy, but because he has a case of the harem lead cave under pressure instinct, he fails to make it into college. Feeling like a total loser, Minato mopes around until he has a fateful encounter with Musubi, a “sekirei”. He is then thrown into a game where 108 girls (and some guys) seek out their harem lead and then fight over their right to show him their boobs.

You know the drill by know: fanservice aplenty. Sekirei turns the harem potential to the max with the opportunity to have 108 girls (and some guys) all fawning over the protagonist, while mixing harem antics with some nice action.

Why it made the list: Sekirei’s premise has maximum harem potential. While it has the usual amounts of fanservice, Sekirei stands out a bit for mixing comedy, harem and action together nicely.

Watch if you like: Action; comedy; powers; the supernatural; harem; short series; diplomatic lead; lots of girls; fanservice.

Angels and demons once again invade the average romantic comedy anime to make it an ecchi harem show for a slightly older audience. Shuffle! is one of the few shows where the protagonist brings a few things to the story, which already puts it leagues above a lot of other shows.

In a world where gods, demons and humans live together, protagonist Rin one day discovers that he lives between heaven and hell – that is, his neighbours are literally gods and demons. Rin’s life with just his upperclassman is stressful enough, but now he has to deal with higher beings fawning over him at any given moment. What a tough life!

Shuffle! is already a stand-out anime due to the protagonist contributing in some way to the story, but it still delivers touching romance, nice comedy and plenty of fanservice. It’s not fanservice all the way though and pulls out a plot late-game to make the story go somewhere different.

Why it made the list: Shuffle!, another ecchi anime based off a game, might seem like another romcom but brings a few unique aspects to the series to make it stand out against the rest. It changes direction halfway through the show to explore a different kind of story but still comes out a little average.

Watch if you like: Gods; demons; neighbours; fated meetings; dramatic turns; twists; fanservice; harem anime; slice of life.

Next on our Top Ecchi Anime list is To LOVE-Ru, a show that claims the succubus tail like no other. Spawning plenty of sequels and OVAs which only get more and more ecchi, To LOVE-Ru is one series you can get into as a short fap affair or a long relationship.

Rito is the kind of wuss who fits right into a harem anime and To LOVE-Ru isn’t any different. When alien-like Lala (surprisingly not from Lala Land) appears naked out of nowhere, Rito’s life is changed as he now has to deal with Lala’s antics as she tries to find a reason to stay on Earth. This of course means he also turns into a clumsy girl magnet.

To LOVE-Ru is more of a series to watch for mindless fun and some exciting scenes more than a moving plot or touching romance, and sometimes that’s just what you need. It has no surprises or anything too new but it does what it does well.

Why it made the list: To LOVE-Ru doesn’t bring anything new to ecchi series, but it’s a fairly long series that delivers exactly what you expect it to. It’s heavy on the ecchi moments and mixes in some comedy for good measure to make what amounts to just a bunch of silly fun. To LOVE-Ru Darkness amps up the ecchiness like never before.

Watch if you like: Succubus tails; reading the manga; watching the OVAs; clueless protagonists; episodic series; shenanigans; fanservice; harem anime; panties.

Next on our list is an ecchi harem anime with a dramatic twist for those wanting something that isn’t fun and cheer all the way.

Tomoki has recurring dreams from his childhood and often wakes up in tears. But that doesn’t matter much at all when he has a busty childhood friend and a creept sempai. But just when Tomoki is relaxing outside in his quiet, peaceful town, an angel falls from the sky and sets a whole chain of fanservice and nip slips in motion.

If we still need to sell you on this anime, then let it be this: that imageset where some guy is covered in panties and says they came home to him? This show. The panties can fly.

Why it made the list: Heaven’s Lost Property has an enjoyable quirky sense of humour and would be a good watch for those who want to enjoy a comedy series with something a little different. The series does take a turn towards the dramatic near the end, but still keeps its quirky style.

Watch if you like: Panties; angels; harem anime; episodic anime; short series; perverted leads; childhood friends; boobs.

Before you ask, it’s Imocho for short. Filling in yet another pseudo-incest spot on our Top Ecchi Anime list is the show where helping a ghost move on involves doing it with your brother.

After her mother remarries, Mitsuki is forced to move in with her new father and brother. While she doesn’t take a liking to her brother right away, she’s soon subjected to the plot of an incest ecchi anime and forced to get along with him. When the ghost of a girl named Hiyori jumps into Mitsuki’s body, she’s made to get as close to sex with her brother as she can, because the ghost needs to get off one more time before moving on.

Despite the premise and our ranking, Imocho has a different way of tackling the usual “gotta get in big bro’s pants” plot. Things warm up over time in more ways than one and the show delivers on both developing relationships as well as steamy (though censored) situations.

Why it made the list: Imocho gives a small twist to the usual brother–sister incest story by involving an outsider and having the sister react like any normal person would. Relationships develop over time but there’s also a fair bit of playing around, essentially making a story where you can have your ecchi and eat it too.

Watch if you like: Incest; chastity belts; ghosts; no parents; censors; fanservice; step-brothers.

Highschool DxD, just like the majority of anime on this list, has its fair share of harem and nudity. It’s an all-out, no-brains funfest with no pretending to be something deep or moving. And that’s what makes it great.

Issei, an average high school guy who thinks about hot girls all the time, is killed by his very first girlfriend. To make things worse (or better?) he’s resurrected and recruited into an army of devils where he has to fight against angels. Though in this battle between “good” and “evil”, there’s always room for breasts.

Highschool DxD has a pretty clear story that doesn’t get in the way of its true goal of girls, girls, girls. It also mixes in a fair amount of comedy and drama, just to keep things fresh.

Why it made the list: Highschool DxD amps up the ecchiness but doesn’t forget that at heart it’s a mindless fun harem show. There’s an alright plot if you need a good set-up, but in the end it keeps its goal firmly in its grope.

Watch if you like: Breasts; panties; devils; fanservice; mindeless fun; watching the OVAs; angels and devils; harem anime.

Nothing beats classic ecchi anime like the show that has a scene where a girl’s boobs are used as a shock absorber for a gun. That’s a real selling point.

After a zombie outbreak attempts to overwhelm one Japanese high school, a handful of students and the school nurse try to fend off the hoards while they look into what caused this mess. Fortunately, the impending zombie apocalypse in no way stops the phenomenon of every girl’s breasts being made of jello.

Highschool of the Dead is another generally mindless ecchi show that is easy to watch and delivers what it promises. Main guy Kouta brings more to the show than the usual protagonist, but it’s still boobs ahead for a generally enjoyable show.

Why it made the list: Oh, don’t delude yourself; this is the show you want if you’re here for the boobs and maybe a bit of fighting action. There’s not much to worry about with this show, and there’s more than a few girls to ogle while everyone bounces around.

Watch if you like: Zombies; boobs; bouncing; high school; horror; short series; fanservice; small cast of characters; surviving; the apocalypse; action.

Our obligatory loli spot on this list goes to the anime about barely legal little girls playing basketball. Get your secret folder on your hard drive ready for this one.

Subaru is down on his luck after his basketball club in high school is suspended. With his passion waning, his aunt arranges for him to become the captain of a basketball team for young girls. From there he coaches the young girls through various trials, but it’s not all sports all the time; they have to fit in the ecchi somewhere.

Ro-Kyu-Bu borders on a lot of things, but the important part is it’s not the typical kind of sports anime you might expect. The show is more of a slice of life anime where you get to see the young girls mature and be half-naked at times.

Why it made the list: There are no real surprises with a show tagged as ecchi, lolicon and sport. While it’s not the complete descent into debauchery that you might be thinking it is, theres enough there to keep any ecchi fan entertained.

Watch if you like: Little girls; overly cutsey anime; sports anime; slice of life; basketball; all-star voice actor cast; the moe revolution;  short series.

For the guy who needs more than one sister incest story, we have double the fun with Kiss x Sis, bringing you two sisters for the value of one!

Keita’s two older sisters, Ako and Riko, openly love their little brother and vie for his attention. They use the fact that they’re simply step-sisters to get close to Keita and tease him as much as possible. Many ecchi shenanigans ensue.

Kiss x Sis is a bunch of incestuous comedy fun and a short series that’s easy to get into for some quick laughs or… other things.

Why it made the list: While Kiss x Sis doubles the usual incest potential of some ecchi anime, it’s still a usual ecchi/harem show. The main guy is indecisive is there to react to everything, but the anime is saved by the main two girls being very vocal with their wants.

Watch if you like: Psuedo-incest; growing to like someone; short series; school setting; small harem; romcoms; teasing.

There’s no need to read too far into this summary. Seikon no Qwaser is the go-to anime if you want boobs and maybe a little bit of action. Replacing every word here with “boobs” is not an inaccurate summary of the series.

Alexander Nikolaevith Hell (os Sasha) is a super-warrior who can wield iron to fight. Being part of a group of warriors who can control metal has its perks, especially when these warriors draw power from drinking breast milk. And so begins Sasha’s great quest to drink the breast milk of all the girls in a school while searching for some relic or non-boob thing; it’s not important.

What can you say about Qwaser that isn’t just “boobs”? The show knows exactly what it likes and works it into an average action plot pretty well. It falls to near last place on this list for limiting itself to brea— well, it falls short by being fairly average overall.

Why it made the list: Boobs. Breats. Breast milk. Boobs again. Oh, sorry, I got distracted. Seikon no Qwaser is an action show, but really it’s all about feeling boobs and drinking breast milk. Know what you’re getting into and enjoy it for what it is.

Watch if you like: Boobs; breasts; breast milk; jiggling; powers; fighting; watching the second season; action; the supernatural.

The next fighting action anime on this list is Ikkitousen, the anime that combines pantyshots with intense battles with a whole range of characters.

School rivalry is taken to a new level in Ikkitousen where seven schools are at war with each other. Students battle it out with people from other schools as everyone is guided by some old dead guys from thousands of years ago. In comes Hakufu, a young pair of breasts and panties that has the power to unite the warring schools while showing off her assets.

Ikkitousen gives you a dose of fighting if you’re looking for it, but its fanservice is as heavy as just one of Hakufu’s boobs. It’s a very hit-and-miss show with a lot of people, but if you’re on this list, chances are you’ll like it already.

Why it made the list: Ikkitousen can be hard to get into due to all the history it likes to flaunt, but besides that it has a low threshold. Watching the series for fanservice and a little action is what it’s all about in the end.

Watch if you like: Fighting; action; fate; Chinese history; large cast of characters; short series; watching all the sequels; school setting.

To start off our list we have a recent anime where the energy created by getting turned on could very well save the world. Get your tissues ready for this one.

It doesn’t matter when or how they meet, when Ryousuke makes a deal with death goddess Lisara, his boner becomes the most important thing in the world. In order to fulfil her mission to fight the monster of the week, Lisara relies on Ryousuke’s ability to create “life energy” by being a pervert in any situation. What a great team.

The premise makes for an interesting show, but as far as ecchi fanservice goes, Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai doesn’t sneak in any surprises. You’ll get exactly what you’re expecting with this show.

Why it made the list: Dakara Boku wa, H ga Dekinai’s premise is pretty damn interesting and maybe some fantasy fuel if you want it to be.

Watch if you like: Being a perv; demons; Shinigami; comedy; battles; monster of the week; short series.
